Lyhyt esittely

I’m Vikram Chakraborty, I’m 19, a Religious studies student and I’m with the Left youth of southwest Finland. I’ve been more or less an active member of Vanu since I originally joined in 2022. During my three years at Vanu I’ve been active on the local, district and national levels as a political candidate, board member and civilian service person respectively. In addition I’ve been an active member of the Left alliance for almost as long. Having been present at almost every level of the organisation has been quite insightful and has given me a few ideas about where to take the organization next.

What I’d really like to work on the most in the federal board is Coalition building: Vanu should strive to work closer with different communities, NGOs, youth parties, activist collectives and trade unions. In addition Vanu should function as a mediator to bring these groups together. Enforced labour rights, climate action, justice for Palestine and immigrants rights are all goals that can be attained through cooperation. I believe that Vanu is in a unique position to bring these groups together.
